  4. Problem Definition • The main cause of death in the European Union(EU) is Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) • 42% of all deaths in the EU, 45% deaths in women and 38% deaths in men

  7. More than 800,000 patients in Europe have implanted pacemaker, ICD or CRT devices for the treatment or secondary prevention of cardiac arrhythmias

What is iCARDEA project? • Integrated intelligent platform for continuous, remote and personalized monitoring the cardiac arrhythmia patients with implanted devices. • The personalized adaptive care planner and execution engine that will be developed within the scope of the iCARDEA project. • Cardiac arrhythmia clinical guidelines will be in focus.

  11. Features • Utilize the action recommendations • Scheduling notes to alert other staff • Provide users with many reminders, • when a CIED is out of order, • when a supervisory visit is required, • when a procedure needs to be completed during a visit.

Road So Far • "Careplan Definition Tool” is almost ready to generate XML executed by "Careplan Engine". • The minimum conditions to execute a sample clinical guideline is achieved. • "User Management" option is provided for the users having different access rights. • The HTML editor used in the context of the project is almost completed.
