Wikoryl Tablet Wikoryl Tablet is prepared with the combination of ChlorpheniramineMaleate, Paracetamol/Acetaminophen, Phenylephrine, hence the effect of Wikoryl Tablet is a combination of properties of above composition. ChlorpheniramineMaleate is prescribed for It is used to treat allergy, hay fever, and common cold, asthma, utricaria. Paracetamol/Acetaminophen is prescribed for This medication is a non-opiate analgesic and antipyretic prescribed for headache pain (muscle ache backache) and fever either alone or combined with other medications. It changes the way the body senses pain and cools the body. Phenylephrine is prescribed for This medication is a selective alpha agonist, used to increase blood pressure and topically as a nasal decongestant. It is also used in the eye to dilate the pupil or to constrict superficial blood vessels in eye allergy. It works by reducing swelling of the blood vessels in the nasal passages.

Wikoryl Tablet Dosage Below are the dosage information for Wikoryl Tablet- Dosage of ChlorpheniramineMaleate NA Dosage of Paracetamol/Acetaminophen Adults: 0.5-1gm 3-6 times daily max 4gm. Children: 15mg/kg/dose or 60mg/kg/24hr divided every 6 hrs. Maximum 5 doses SOS. Dosage of Phenylephrine The prescribed dose is: IM- 2 to 5 mg. IV- 0.1 to 0.5mg by slow infusion. PO- 5 to 10mg. Nasal- Nasal congestion: As 0.25-1% solution: Instill/spray 4 hourly as needed. Ophthalmic- Usually 0.12% solution: Instill 1-2 drops ?4 times/day for 72 hour.

Side effects of Paracetamol/Acetaminophen Bronchospasm, blood dyscrasias, centribular necrosis, liver damage, hypoglycemic, coma, hepatic necrosis, liver failure, skin rashes, GI adverse effects. Side effects of Phenylephrine Anxiety, tachycardia, reflex bradycardia, arrhythmias, cold extremities/gangrene, headache, nausea, vomiting, sweating, hypertension, weakness, restlessness, fear, insomnia and confusion.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk.
