  1. How Effective Leaders Motivate their Subordinates Shared by Silvana Suder

  2. Silvana Suder Silvana Suder helps leaders become more effective by hiring new people, assembling teams and motivating their employees.

  3. Different People Motivated in Different Ways Different people are motivated in different ways. The main thing effective leaders understand about motivation is that it is impossible to motivate someone. Fundamentally, if an employee doesn’t want to come to work, there is nothing you can do about it. You can’t come to their home and physically make them show up at work and perform. That would be trespassing and physical abuse, both of which are crimes punishable by law.

  4. Motivation Motivation always comes from within. Great leaders find ways to tie their goals and organization’s goals to a person’s needs so that the person becomes motivated and wants to perform. The only way this can happen is when the leader is also motivated.

  5. Motivators That a Leader can Use in a Work Environment There are a number of motivators that a leader can use in a work environment: • The first motivator is achievement. People feel better when they actually accomplish something and when they create something that works. When an employee accomplishes something, a leader may ask about how the employee achieved the result. The leader can then have the employee teach others how to do the same. The employee will then feel significant and accomplished.

  6. Motivators That a Leader can Use in a Work Environment Recognition is also motivating to people. A leader can recognize achievement of goals, progress towards a goal, doing something new, and doing things right. Another motivator is responsibility. An example of motivation by responsibility is getting subordinates to tell you what they’ll do and when. By telling what and when they will do, they are assuming and claiming responsibility just like Zarvos Leadership & Coaching clients claim responsibility when creating deadlines for themselves.
