  1. Who are we? We are... Churches helping churches grow passionate disciples.

  2. We are... A partnership of some 470 Baptist Churches throughout the Atlantic Provinces 60,000+ members Connected nationally and internationally

  3. History of the Convention: • Early beginnings through Revival and the leadership of Henry Alline. • Wolfville Baptist founded 1765, longest continuous history in Canada. • 1905-06, Free Baptist and Regular Baptist Unite to form the United Baptist Convention.

  4. Our Partnerships: Four Conventions and Unions across Canada: • Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches (Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada) • French Baptist Union • Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec • Canadian Baptists of Western Canada

  5. Our Partnerships: This partnership consists of approximately 1200 churches in Canada. All four of the Conventions and Unions partner in Global mission with CBM, Canadian Baptist Ministries. (CBM’s office is in Mississauga, Ontario)

  6. Our Partnerships: • We are members of the Baptist World Alliance, a fellowship of 221 Conventions and Unions comprising a membership of more than 42 million baptized believers and a community of 140 million worldwide.

  7. OVERALL PURPOSE: • The purpose of the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches is being and making disciples of Jesus Christ, who are integrated into the life and ministry of healthy, growing churches, committed to fulfilling the Great Commission and the doing of God’s will on earth.

  8. How we fit together...

  9. We can accomplish more by doing mission together...

  10. Six Core Ministry Priorities To accomplish this, we have identified...

  11. Healthy churches are disciple producing churches. • We exist exclusively for the health and vitality of all our Baptist churches. • The CABC provides the tools, resources and support to encourage churches to reach their full potential. • Effective Pastors • Creative Mission • Passionate Next Generations • Focused Compassion • Celebrated Community • Healthy churches require effective pastors. • We support, equip and journey with pastors from the time they begin their call, and maintain that support through their entire life. • We work along side churches and their communities as they seek to fulfill their mission efforts. • From here in Atlantic Canada to global mission through CBM, we help churches creatively share the Good News of Jesus Christ. • The CABC is committed to our youth and the families that raise them. • Atlantic Baptists recognize that the only gospel is a holistic gospel. • We invest in bringing God’s love to a hurting world through various efforts and initiatives. • We are connected by a common faith, mission and identity. • We celebrate this connection every time we get together at Oasis, Associations, or on-line.

  12. In this shared partnership, we have a shared responsibility. UIM is our annual general mission fund that comes from our member churches.

  13. is our current 3 year call to churches and individuals to meet our United in Mission budget from 2010 to 2012.

  14. We can do much more together than we could ever do on our own. Together we’ll be transforming churches, transforming lives.
