  5. The Need for Technical Expertise • The OTC does not have technical specialists so we found ourselves needing assistance with technology evaluations • First attempt at outsourcing was to a “Technology Review Team” • Made up of local scientists, University researchers, attorneys and entrepreneurs • Was not effective because team did not have “skin in the game” • Newt Hamlin of LGE Execs introduced himself to our office in an effort to help increase commercialization • LGE Execs has a network of over 75 CEOs, Presidents, CIOs, CTOs, CMOs, CFOs, COOs, GMs, VPs, and Directors

  6. Relationship Dynamics • Send technology summary to Newt for his review • Newt makes contact with his team member that has technical expertise in field of technology • Provide feedback to TTU • Opportunity rating (A-F) • Anticipated Investment • Anticipated Timeline • Potential challenges • Determine next steps • Potential start-up? • Cost savings • Other companies charge up to $3,500/technology for same service
