NSDS – NATIONAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY 2000/2005 Vision: “Skills For Productive citizenship for all” • Objectives: • To develop a culture of life long learning • To foster skills development in the formal economy for productivity and employability • To stimulate and support skills development in small businesses • To promote skills development for employability and sustainable livelihoods through social development initiatives • To Assist new entrants into employment

  5. STATE OF NATION ADDRESS “the government has approved a new National Skills Development Strategy for the period 2005 to 2010. R21, 9 billion over five years will be allocated to fund this strategy which will include improved co-operation between SETAs on one hand and the Further Education and Training colleges and the institutions of higher education on the other”. President Mbeki - 11 February 2005
