IOD is an application that provides realtime interactive seminars, allowing the speaker to control the environment and participants to engage in full duplex interactivity. It supports audio, slides, annotations, and offers a seminar manager for composition and offline recording.

IOD Features • Realtime interactive seminars • Seminar Manager : Allows on-the-fly composing of lectures for later playback • Lecture server for realtime streaming of the stored lectures
Realtime Seminars • Synchronized Audio, slides, and annotations • Speaker controlled interactive environment • On-line recording (for speaker only) • White board feature for live addition of text and sketches • Uses IP Multicast for bandwidth conservation
IOD:Supported Media • Audio • 8Bit, or 16Bit PCM samples at 8000samples/sec • 13Kbps GSM Audio compression • Slide/Document • PostScript, PowerPoint, PDF • Word document support planned • Annotations • Pointer, Rectangle, Ellipse/circle, Lines • Low bit rate video with IITM
IOD: Interactivity • Interactivity completely controlled by speaker • Full duplex interactivity between speaker and any one participant • Audible/Visible to everyone • Request and grant mechanism • Interaction through queuing

IOD:Status • It is in the product form. Installable package available at http://ece.iisc.ernet.in/iod/ • Tested between IITM and IISc. It worked! • Live Recordings of the lectures of the Internet workshop are available on the web. • Offline recording of couple of lectures related to the Internet available • Live Recording, and multicasting of the ongoing semester course on “Internet Technologies”
