  2. As the years pass by, older people attend many funerals. Nobody likes the prospect of aging without a family member by their side or without friends to support them through the difficult phases of life. Loneliness and sensitivity can negatively affect both physical and mental health. However connecting seniors with social groups, such as senior centers and meal release programs, is one way to combat the feeling of isolation.

  3. The increased risk of death that accompanies loneliness can be attributed to the array of biological responses that occur in a person’s body when they feel alone. They are: elevated blood pressure, increased inflammatory response, broken up sleep, higher morning levels of the stress hormone, cortical and intensified symptoms of depression.

Some Helpful Tips To Alleviate Loneliness: • When a person is engaged in social activities and social interactions, these are the best answers to the question of how to get better mental health by alleviating loneliness.
