We glorify God by offering a sacrifice of praise. • Hebrews 13:15, “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” NKJV • Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” NKJV

  3. I. We glorify God by offering a sacrifice of praise. • It is a living sacrifice • A sacrifice of WHO we are. • Offering our human make-up to Him. • Ourselves, our talents, our abilities, our imperfections.

  4. I. We glorify God by offering a sacrifice of praise. • It is a holy sacrifice • A sacrifice of WHOSE we are. • Offering our soul to Him. • Acknowledge we are set-apart for His service; offer Him our ambitions and goals as well.

  5. I. We glorify God by offering a sacrifice of praise. • It is an accepted (or pleasing) sacrifice • A sacrifice of having the right MOTIVE • Offering the heart to God. • The spirit in which we offer it; humble attitude before God; keeping our eyes on Him rather than ourselves.

We glorify God because we were created to do so. • It is expressed through prayer • The fruit of our lips is giving thanks to His name. • The blessing of God is to those who fear Him. • We bear fruit • John 15:5b, “If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” • We will increase

We glorify God because we were created to do so. • It is expressed through dedication • The earth is given to us to use for His glory. • Psalms 115:6 • Resources • Responsibility • Genesis 1:28 • The dead don’t praise God (Ps. 115:17-18) • It is not the dead; those who go down to silence • It is we who extol the Lord, now and forevermore.

We glorify God because we were created to do so. • It is expressed through trust • We become like that in which we put our trust • Followers of Christ become like Him • Conformed to the likeness of His Son (Romans 8:29) • Transformed into His likeness (2 Corinthians 3:18) • In contrast to the idols made by the hands of men. • We are to trust in the Lord • He is our help and shield • He remembers and blesses us
