  3. CATS Student Data SubmissionData File for Web Submission Creation of data file may be accomplished using: CATS School Year 2002-03 Software OR Locally developed or commercial software. • Must meet file and record format requirements. Pennsylvania Department of Education

  4. CATS Student Data Submission2002-03 Software CATS Software allows users to: • Maintain student records. • Generate aggregate statistical reports based on 2002-03 data for your school. • Access to program approvals. • Create file for Web submission. Pennsylvania Department of Education

CATS Web-Based Student Data Submission CATS Web-based file submission: • Provides feedback on data/file quality and characteristics at the time of submission. • Fewer phone calls • E-mail feedback from PDE • Adds local control of and accountability for data. • Is password protected via e-PDE Web Portal.   6. Web Portal • Provides: • Secure access to e-PDE applications (i.e. CATS) • PA Power Port username & password required • A path to become a registered CATS user for • Program Approval and/or • Student Data Submission Pennsylvania Department of Education

Web Portal • e-PDE Welcome Page Options: • If you do not have PA Power Port username and password: • REGISTER to obtain PA Power Port username & password • Need to supply unique username and e-mail address • If you already have PA Power Port username and password: • LOGIN to e-PDE Web Portal Pennsylvania Department of Education

  11. Web Portal • Via e-PDE Web Portal: • Submit user registration request to use CATS Student Data Submission system. • User registration request needs to be approved by District/AVTS e-PDE CATS Security Approver. Pennsylvania Department of Education

Web Portal • Local e-PDE Web Security Personnel: • Security Administrators (LEA-wide) • Security Approvers (LEA-wide and application specific - CATS, CAD, SAM…) • __________________________________________________________________________________________________ • Use “Administrator Report” link to list your school’s Security Administrators and Approvers Pennsylvania Department of Education

Learn and plan for the next cycle. • Accommodate your own needs with new system. • Consider what the system can do to automate existing internal processing. • Make sure you are set to support the new system. • Consider adding a help desk. • Be prepared to hold a lot of hands!! • Patience is key.
