    1. 5 5 Top Habits to Improve Your Social Skills @HabitsGuy

    2. Most of the time we accept the age-old adage… Life is about who you know.

    3. But it’s not actually about who you know, it’s about who likes you.

    4. People will move mountains for those they like.

    5. Social skills are the greasy crowbar that will get you exactly where you want in life.

    6. Let’s dive into some quick tips to help you build your social skills habits.

    7. Eye Contact The key to eye contact is dealing with the tension tension– the feeling you get when you hold eye contact with someone and have to look away out of discomfort.

    8. There’s no substitute for tackling eye contact tension besides exposure to it. Grab a pair of sunglasses and head outside to an area with foot traffic.

    9. Position yourself so that you are facing oncoming traffic. Put your sunglasses on and stare into people’s eyes as they walk by, remembering that they can’t see you.

    10. HPM - History, Philosophy, Metaphor HPM ensures that you will never run out of things to say, and will inject life back into any conversation.

    11. Sometimes in conversation we flat out run out of things to say.

    12. These 3 elements are things literally everyone has. They will prompt a personal response from others and perhaps they will share their own HPM.

    13. Know Your Stories When talking with acquaintances or friends, certain conversation patterns arise, and you actually know most of them already.

    14. Do your work beforehand and construct short mini-stories for each of the questions you know you’ll be asked.

    15. When someone asks a question about you, rarely do they want to know the specific answer – they just want to hear something interesting about you.

    16. Be Intensely Curious Being curious about someone means wanting to know about their motivations, intentions, hopes, dreams.

    17. Fortunately, people love expounding on these aspects of themselves.

    18. You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you. - Dale Carnegie

    19. React! Reacting verbally or through your facial expressions are the music to a conversation’s soundtrack.

    20. If reactions are removed, the scene still functions, but it feels oddly empty and disconnected.

    21. A conversation is a two-way street. Let people know what’s on your mind because they can’t read it.

    22. What to do next: • Find someone who embodies great charisma, whether real or fictional.
