Background: • The University of North Texas (UNT) began accepting theses and dissertations in electronic format in 1999. • UNT is one of the first three American universities (or early adopters) of what was to become the ETD movement in higher education • The UNT Libraries have been playing an active role in supporting the UNT ETD program by integrating ETDs into the existing digital resources.

Music ETDs • Although different disciplines have different ETD structures and requirements, the UNT digital library infrastructure supports aggregating a variety of digital formats. • DMA students required to provide digital copies of their DMA recitals • Over the past year, the UNT Libraries have put forth great effort in making ETDs more accessible by : • Integrating associated parts (such as music recitals) • Providing additional methods of access (in multiple formats)
