  2. Aunque los judíos eran el objetivo principal, los nazis también dirigían el racismo a los gitanos roma. Las interpretaciones de las Leyes de Nuremberg de 1935 (que definían a los judíos por sangre) fueron luego adaptadas para incluir los roma. Los nazis calificaron los roma como no trabajadores y “asocial”--improductivos y inadecuados socialmente. Los prisioneros de guerra soviéticos recibieron tratamiento especialmente brutal; más de tres millones murieron durante las operaciones de los Einsatzgruppen (equipo móvil de matanza) y durante su encarcelación en campos de prisioneros de guerra o campos de concentración.
