Overview • Heineken is the third largest distributor of beer in the world. • In the United States, it is called Heineken and in Indonesia, it is called BirBintang. • The target market is anyone of drinking age.
Product • Heineken is the second most imported beer in the United States next to Corona. • BirBintang is the largest beer distributor in Indonesia • Bintang is often comapred to Heineken in taste and the bottles are similar. • Both are lager beers and have high quality ingredients.
Price • Heineken is $3.00 for a big bottle in the United States • BirBintang is $1.50 for a big bottle in Indonesia. • In restaurants, the prices for both beers are a lot higher.
Promotion • Heineken cut deals to distribute their beer worldwide. • Heineken bought a majority share of Bintang in Indonesia in 1936. • Bintang and Heineken both use commercials to promote their product. • The focus for these commercials are younger people and working people.
Place • Heineken has breweries around the world including Indonesia. • Bintang is accessible everywhere in Indonesia and the same with Heineken in the United States.
