  3. Make a Difference Day • Make a Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make a Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.

  4. Rotary MDD Purpose • Build relationships among our fellow Rotarians, their family members, friends and other volunteers in our southwest valley area by serving others. • Seven committee members representing all three clubs • Be a catalyst for change in our community by providing leadership and resources. • Our three Rotary Clubs initiated Make a Difference Day in 2008 • Encourage members of our two new southwest valley Rotoract Clubs to join us. • Make a positive impact for many in our community. • Served two projects last year, four this year

  5. Purpose • Encourage community volunteerism outside of Rotary to increase our capacity of donated hours. • West Valley National Bank established a volunteer hotline • 65 volunteers last year, 103 volunteers this year (45 from Luke AFB) • Support the Rotary International causes in our own community. • Served Boys and Girls Club – poverty, literacy • Served New Life Center – domestic abuse • Served two disabled veterans – preserving the earth and disabled people

  6. Commitments • $1,500 budgeted per Club • Submitted and received a $2,500 Rotary 5490 District Grant • $1,200 cash donations for t-shirts and etc. • Lunch from McDonald’s • Water from Credit Union West • Still estimating in-kind donations, but expect them to be about $3,000-$6,000
