    2. 2 Essex Secondary Schools Association Purpose To maintain & develop effective Secondary Education in Essex To provide for the personal & professional support of Headteacher colleagues To develop/monitor services to schools

    3. 3 Push for Privatisation ASHE Rationale: Supportive Association offering advice Provides an effective communication for local & national issues Brings colleagues together, share conferences & avoid colleagues feeling isolated Support colleagues when difficult situations occur: Ofsted, LA & DfE interventions Provides representatives for: School Forum, Standards Fund Committee, Admissions Forum & many other Strategic Groups in the LA Provides Professional Development through, Conferences, New Heads Induction, Training Not a Professional Association (e.g. Union)

    4. 4 ASHE Partnership Collaborative APC Objectives School focused relationship with LA & other providers Function is improvement of standards across all schools Responding to identified needs on the part of schools Recognise school leaders as a resource directly involved in delivering programmes & support for colleagues Develop bespoke solutions through collective wisdom & resources of the collaborative Use a data base that identifies collaborative activity Sharing strategies, ideas, activities and other information amongst member colleagues Develop awareness of good practice nationally & internationally and dissemination to schools Commissioning activities & projects Sharing information through a web presence and on-line community
