    2. Why Science? Goals: Understand the natural world Science can help explain why this happen- why water evaporates, what causes disease, how something works etc. Help make predictions Develop scientific inquiry- by trying to learn about different things. Examples: Objects, events, materials etc. And ask questions & predict what they think might happen.

    3. Why start science at preschool? “Children are curious about the natural world… with this curiosity and the need to make sense of the world, children are motivated to ask questions, explore how things work, and look closely at the natural world around them” (p. 2, Worth & Grollman”. According to Worth & Grollman, A science curriculum is important because it helps children learn to love science and doing science becomes nature. Helps children to explore learning experiences, Observe, build a foundation of experiences and ideas on which to construct ideas. Provides a rich context

    4. THE CLASSROOM Your role as s teacher is to create an environment & culture that supports and encourages children to build. Challenge Wonder of trying to use different materials Emphasize the importance of building Inquiry Sharing observations & ideas Documenting Building on prior experiences

    5. CLASSROOM Encouraging diverse strengths & challenges Encouraging communication skills Allowing children to explore thir ideas Connect science to other domains Make the most out of curriculum Flexible routines that allows time Involve parents
