  5. Capita News item 22201 FMS Spring 2014 Further to the News Item Resource No. 22052 posted on 20/12/2013 regarding the necessary changes to FMS following the publication of the DfE pay scheme for teachers, I would like to take this opportunity to provide an update. As mentioned previously, the FMS Spring 2014 release will be able to generate salary projections from Service Terms that continue using Scales and Scale Points as well as Service Terms that have been converted to using Salary Ranges in the following areas:- • Salary Projections• Individual Salary Payments• Block Payments To accommodate Salary Ranges within SIMS Personnel, the labels within these screens will change from Scale to Scale/Range - Resource Number 22051 illustrates these label changes. Following feedback from customers regarding the planned disabling of Salary Calculator and Budget Planer, we have developed a revised solution that enables these menu routes to remain available after the Spring 2014 upgrade. However, once the licence has been applied to SIMS Personnel to use Salary Ranges and a Service Term has been converted and data has been passed to FMS, the menu routes Focus | Personnel Links | Salary Calculator and Focus | Budget Planning will not be available. We are planning to support Salary Ranges in these two menu routes by re-enabling Salary Calculator in Summer 2014 and Budget Planning in Autumn 2014. We believe that this revised solution will allow schools to continue using the existing functionality during the Summer Term when budgets could be exported from Budget Planning to FMS for 2014/2015, the completion and submission of CFR 2013/2014 for Maintained Schools before they decide to move to Salary Ranges for their Service Terms.
