Proposed Change to Wireless Communications Policy • WCD Policy last updated in 2008 • Three options • University provided device (i.e. UGA property) • reimbursement of business use on a personally owned device (for limited business use only) • monthly allowance for recurring business use of a personally owned device

WCD Allowance • The employee’s job requires ready access to voice, data or other electronically available materials and/or be readily accessible for regular and frequent contact with the public or with University faculty, staff, students, or business partners, and • The employee's job extends beyond his or her access to regular office based land-line telephones, paper-based materials or desk top computers that would satisfy the required business communication needs.

  4. WCD Allowance • $125 maximum allowance • Allowance amount guidelines in procedures • Forms and justification maintained in the unit • Cognizant Unit Head approver • Annual review
