  1. Dual Credit 2013-14

  2. YOU MUST have a composition notebook or spiral notebook and a pocket folder by WEDNESDAY! We will begin learning then. This notebook must be for this class only!

  3. Dual Credit You get both high school and college credit in one class. Rather than taking ENG104 (which transfers to other institutions as ENG1) in ONE semester, you take it at BHS for one year. Mrs. Stacey Turner will be here in a couple of weeks to enroll you in the course for college credit if you choose, but you can also just take this class as high school credit, and be completely prepared for college writing next year. You choose.

  4. 7:45-8:00 Get a copy of the Course Syllabus and have it explained to you. What we don’t finish, we will discuss on Wednesday.

  5. 8:00-8:20 Write a letter to me in which you explain: • What you expect from me this year. • What you expect to learn this year in this class. • One of your best reading or writing experiences in school. • One of your worst reading or writing experiences in school.

  6. 8:20-8:33 Think, Pair, Share. Think about one or two lines from what you just wrote that you like or are comfortable sharing. Underline or highlight it. Pair up with ONE person at your table. (On our second round, you will pair up with someone else not at your table.) Read that line to them.

  7. Remember • Have a folder and notebook of your choosing by Wednesday. • Bring your Syllabus back in the folder.
