  1. What is Better, Foam Mattress or Spring Mattress? In recent years, the term memory foam mattress has gained currency. Everyone seems to be leaning towards buying a foam mattress. But does that mean older spring mattresses are bad or obsolete? Not necessarily. Spring mattresses were invented before memory foam mattress. Memory foam mattresses became a thing only in the 1990s. Before which, spring mattresses were the best available option. The addition of spring gave better support to mattresses which were otherwise just massive pillows. Most of us know that an uncomfortable mattress can lead to poor sleep. This is what motivated the popularity of foam mattresses. They were much softer and distributed weight more evenly as compared to older spring mattresses. Now memory foam mattresses are all the rage, and they go one step further in ensuring good sleep by adapting to the sleeper's body. Spring mattresses Spring mattresses are older, and most of us grew up sleeping on them. The most distinct thing everyone remembers is the creaky sound of the spring inside the mattress. Inside the mattress, multiple coils produce a spring effect and provide support to the

Memory foam mattresses People are loving memory foam mattresses because of how comfortable they are. They provide excellent back support and reduce back pain. Normal foam mattresses also provide good back support. They are a lot cheaper than memory foam mattresses. The best thing about memory foam mattresses and foam mattresses is that they adapt to the human body's contours. The memory foam mattress can distribute weight evenly. This means that less pressure is exerted on certain parts of the body, causing less pain. Pros Another great advantage of a memory foam mattress is reduced motion transfer. When one person moves, the movement doesn't disturb the other person on the mattress. This ensures uninterrupted sleep. This is perfect for couples who sleep at different times or leave the bed at different times. They are also a lot more hygienic than spring mattresses because they are hypoallergenic and repel dust mites and bed bugs. Simple vacuum cleaning can keep the mattress free from any bugs. Cons One disadvantage that many people cannot adjust to is how much heat these mattresses retain. Unlike traditional spring mattresses, which have cotton, memory foam mattresses have nylon covering, thus retaining more heat. However, this problem has been resolved in latest premium mattresses with the addition of a cooling gel. Another major disadvantage is that these mattresses are more flammable than traditional spring mattresses. Most modern mattresses come with a fire sock covering the mattress and are made of a fire retardant. Conclusion In conclusion, though it may seem like buying a Memory Foam Mattress is the new craze, unless you have back pain or body pain or are having trouble sleeping at night, a spring mattress should do just fine. Memory foam mattresses are expensive but worth the investment because of the heightened comfort they offer along with the health benefits. Source - Ello
