One among the most important training accessories used across many athletic training centers and other event is discus throw. • The discus throw is an event in track and field athletics competition, in which a competitor throws a heavy disc called a discus in an attempt to mark a farther detachment than his or her opponents. • As evidenced by the 5th century it is an ancient sport which is one of the popular forms in the track and field event. Discus choices are as wide-ranging as discus throwers.

  3. When choosing a discus, two things should be taken into consideration and it is how you throw the discus and your gender are just two things that have to be taken into account. Deciding just on the right discus is about more than size, it is about rim weight, discus weight and manufacturing material. • Here in this article you will be able to find in some information about the importance of training accessories and some factors that have to be considered while selecting your discus.

  4. 1. Initially know your weight this is because depending on your sex and age, the overall weight of the discus will differ. While women always throw a 1K discus, men have an excess of options; ages 14 and younger will throw a 1K discus, ages 15 to 18 throw a 1.6K discus and college-aged men will fling a 2K discus. 2. The right material should be selected; discuses are manufactured in different types of materials like rubber, wood or composite plastic. In general rubber discuses are more often than not reserved for beginners and for practice.

  5. 3. Determining the obligatory rim weight would be the next consideration. More experienced throwers will make use of heavier rim. Best throwers may use a 90 percent rim weight discus, but average throwers will bring into play a discus with a rim weight between 70 and 85 percent. • The rim weight has an effect on the overall spin of the discus. More advanced the thrower, the overall weight will be weight and in turn that should be transferred to the rim.

  6. Basic rules of discus throw: players may touch the inner area of the circle rim but cannot touch the outer area of the circle. Throwers must start by performing standing-throw drills prior to shot full throws. • The other hand must be beneath the disc to hold up, and the throwing hands top knuckle must touch the rim with fingertips over the side. • Rotating shoulders in the direction is even more important a slight change in the flipping position will be considered as a foul.
