A tender performed and assigned under the Law for Aviation. National Railway Infrastructure Company Rehabilitation of the railway line through the section Sofia - Plovdiv, 2013-ongoing • The project is in execution by Consortium TKB – THALES-KAPSCH-BALKANTEL • The project is to build an entirely new modern signaling system in Septemvri - Plovdiv section and telecommunications through the Sofia-Plovdiv section and is part of the overall project for the modernization of the railway line Sofia - Plovdiv with a total length of 156 km. Modernization of Septemvri-Plovdiv section has an approximate length of 54 km route. The railway line is electrified and two-way. • Entirely new systems of safety equipment on these stations and adjacent stations are planned on this project: Septemvri, Pazardzhik, Ognyanovo, Stambolijski, Kableshkov. • ERTMS (ETCS Level 1 and GSM-R) computer interlocking systems with interface for dispatching and control and non-signalling interstation automatic block system with axle counters is built over the railway track Septemvri-Plovdiv developed for speed of 160-200 km/h. • The following systems and facilities are built to achieve secure voice and data transmission in the section Sofia - Plovdiv: • Optical connectivity between all sites; • SDH / PDH transmission equipment; • Network data transmission; • Dispatch Stations and voice communication systems; • Passenger information systems - information boards, and sound clock systems; • CCTV; • GSM-R system through the whole section; • Systems of centralized management. www.balkantel.net

Executive Agency “Electronic Communication Networks and Information Systems“ SDH TRANSMISSION SYSTEM OF THE UNIFIED ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK OF THE BULGARIAN STATE ADMINISTRATION, 2014 • Project: Prevention of SDH transmission system of the unified electronic communications network of the Bulgarian State Administration • Scope of the project: Comprehensive prevention of the elements of the SDH transmission system and analysis of its condition by applying modern methods of preventive control to ensure the efficiency and reliability of SDH transmission system. Completed - 2014 • Project: Increasing transport capacity of the SDH transmission system of the unified electronic communications network of the State Administration. • Scope of the project: Increasing of the transport capacity of the SDH transmission system of the unified electronic communications network, which includes the expansion of network capabilities by implementing a high-speed Ethernet-based modules and delivery, testing and configuration of optical modules. National Railway Infrastructure Company DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A UNIFIED CENTER FOR MANAGEMENT OF RAILWAY TRAFFIC – SOFIA JUNCTION, 2014-2015 Scope of the project: Design and construction of a Unified center for management of railway traffic – Sofia junction, December 2014 - December 2015. • Design of the communication system of the center, including: • Design of communication interfaces with the individual dispatching services; • Design of dispatchers’ hall; • Design of dispatching connections through VoIP solutions; • Design of transmission system over fiber optic cable to the railway dispatcher PBAX of NRIC; • Construction of the center including: • Delivery of server equipment to ensure the functionality of dispatching connections; • Delivery of video wall monitor to follow the workflows and train movement; • Development and delivery of interactive dispatching terminals, providing: • Operational dispatcher links; • GSM connections; • GSM-R connections; • Standard telecommunications links; The system is built according to the functional specifications and requirements of IRENE. National Railway Infrastructure Company SUPPLY OF INFORMATION BOARD DELIVERING DISTANT INFORMATION OVER FIBRE OPTIC, 2015 Scope of the project: Supply and installation of Information Board delivering distant information for 11 units Automatic Level Crossings. Period: February 2015 – August 2015 • The Information Board delivers distant information about the state of the level crossing and is responsible for its safe opening in case of failure. Information is transferred over Fibre Optic. • Information Board for delivering of distant information is a product designed entirely by Balkantel Ltd. and is compliant to Safety Standard SIL3. www.balkantel.net

National Railway Infrastructure Company REHABILITATION OF THE RAILWAY TRACK ALONG THE SECTION PLOVDIV- BOURGAS, 2011-ONGOING Rehabilitation of the railway track with a total length of almost 300 km and modernization of the signalling. Balkantel Ltd. is an officially nominated subcontractor of the main executor of the project. National Railway Infrastructure Company REHABILITATION OF THE SIGNALLING AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS ALONG THE SECTION SOFIA – KARLOVO, 2010 • Rehabilitation of signalling and telecommunications along the section Sofia - Karlovo: replacement and modernization of signalling equipment and devices within the stations, station-to-station areas and level crossings, 2010. • Project scope: • Replacement of the old oil-filled cables by new with high technological parameters during implementation of each specific design project; • Replacement of track circuit chains by Axle Counters, with a specifically designed mounted cable racks within each throat; • Mounting of new entry and warning signals; • Rehabilitation of existing relay-rooms, which allows mounting of new interlocking equipment; • Installation of completely new equipment for protection of the level crossings within this section, corresponding to European requirements for safety of level crossings; • Laying of new cables, installation of road signals and barrier mechanisms, mounting of warning crossing signals and equipment cabins; • Completed works within 2011 comprise rehabilitation of three stations (Makotsevo, Mirkovo, Svetovrachene) and six level crossings. www.balkantel.net

  19. Ministry of Defence NATO / ICAO FLIGHT INSPECTION SYSTEM ON L-410 AIRCRAFT, 2008 Equipping of L-410 Aircraft with fully Automatic Navaids Flight Inspection System. The project included: delivery, installation, system integration and putting into operation of flight check system for the ground communication, Information and navigation systems (CINS) The system covers the flight inspection of the following ground systems and equipment: • Tactical Air Navigation System - TACAN; • VHF Omni Directional Radio Range - VOR; • Distance Measuring Equipment - DME; • Instrumental Landing System - ILS, category 2 inclusive; • Automatic Radio Direction Finder in VHF/UHF range; • Ground Approach Radar; • VHF/UHF radios; • Others. www.balkantel.net

Ministry of Defence DESIGN, SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF AUTOMATIC INFORMATION SYSTEM Project design, development and integration of SCADA runway real-time monitoring system at the military airfield Graf Ignatievo, so called Front Desk; The scope of work included the following activities: • Hardware upgrade of LAN and “man-machine interface” system in Graf Ignatievo and Krumovo airfields for automatic visualization of the navigation systems and runway condition; • Installation and integration of remotely controlled video cameras around the navaids and the runway, including dedicated mechanical support and protection facility and power supply; • Implementing of cable and wireless LAN extension for remote video surveillance; • End-point equipment upgrade of the timing system, designed to show the local and world time on a monitor in analogue and digital modes; • Implementation of high speed data transfer network between the airports and the central location in Sofia. www.balkantel.net
