  1. Effective IIT JEE Preparation Some Study Tips from IIT Students and Alumni

  2. So Many Tests? IIT ADVANCED IIT MAINS BITSAT VITEEE MANIPAL UGET www.spanedea.com

  3. Why JEE? • Toughest engineering entrance exam of Asia. • Secures your admission in top engineering colleges of India. • Once you are ready for the toughest you do great in other exams like BITSAT, VITEE, WBJEE etc. • Develops an individual thought process. • Based on only conceptual knowledge, which provides you an extra edge for future exams like CAT, GMAT etc. • Even if you don’t intend to go to IIT’s, BITs and NITs, or have plans to go abroad the JEE preparation you undergo will prepare you to tackle 4 years of engineering with ease and keep you ahead of the pack. www.spanedea.com

  4. Key to Crack IIT-JEE • Consistency in preparation • Keep your basics concepts clear. Read and solve NCERT first before referring to any other recommended study material or book. • You don’t have to master the complete syllabus but it’s necessary to read and clearly understand each and every chapter. • You need to develop strong mental health to withstand the pressure throughout your preparation. • Stamina is another crucial factor, minimum 5 hours of non-stop study is must. • Ability and focus to gain maximum marks in the exam rather then solving the toughest problem of the paper. You have to learn to let things go. Output/Results 18 months www.spanedea.com Inputs/Time (in months)

  5. DO’s to succeed in IIT-JEE • Regular self study for minimum 4 hours a day from day one which should be increased gradually. • Stick to NCERT textbooks. First solve them completely and then go to one more reference book or study material which is much better than jumping to ‘n’ number of sources and solving them partially. • Develop your own strategy during a test and follow it. • As the months pass, increase the time of revision sessions in your study planner. Ideally after 6 months of learning you must devote 1 day only to revision in a week. • Memorize all the formulae, as they are as important as learning the concept, they will save a lot of time in the examination. • Try to achieve consistency in your performance and improve it slowly. • Always use study tables for long duration study sessions. It will prepare you to sustain the pressure on the Last Day. www.spanedea.com

  6. DON’Ts for IIT-JEE • 1. Avoid irregularity in your study pattern. • 2. Do not jump from one to another book in order to search for new problems in the same chapter. • 3. Do not focus on reading books like Morrison Boyld, I.E Finar, Resnick Halladey Kane etc. those are for the teacher to read, understand and simplify to deliver comprehensive knowledge to the students. • 4. Don’t miss out lectures even when you know the chapter, as while listening to it again you will revise it and will definitely learn something new. • 5. Don’t study the entire night as you will feel sleepy during the day. Your study time should be synchronized to your exam time from 9am to 5pm. Especially in your 12th Grade. www.spanedea.com

  7. Why are Group Coaching Classes less effective? • No individual attention • Top students of the class are generally segregated into a separate batch, which decreases their focus on average students in other batches – thereby labeling many who have the potential to crack the JEE as less probables. • Atleast 25% of the time is wasted during travelling. • The pace by which a class goes is governed by a group of students which may or may not be the same as your pace of understanding the concept. • Exhaustion due to travelling leads to additional time wastage. www.spanedea.com

  8. How Students Can Improve Their JEE Chances? • Take up concise course modules designed as per the need of the student. • Exhaustive content delivery based on CBSE syllabus in IIT-JEE pattern. • Avail classes that give flexibility of timing, based on student’s academic schedule • Get individual attention for the student. • Those who crack the JEE utilize their time effectively. Reduce or eliminate the travel time. • Devote more time to self study which is utmost important for IIT-JEE. Sitting in classes for 6+ hours a day isnt going to get you into IIT. • Students should resolve their doubts instantly with their personal tutor. • Attend a class that goes as per your learning pace. Slow learner and quick learners both get into IIT with equal chances, they just need personal attention. www.spanedea.com
