  11. Proposal No. 2018-26 Referral • July 2018: MBOC introduced proposal to permit up to two noncoaching staff members to coach. • August 2018: Board of Directors response and referral. • October 2018: MBOC survey of coaches professional development and career path.

MBB Recruiting Calendar Survey • Purpose: • Determine optimal times and events for coaches to engage in off-campus recruiting activities. • Assist coaches with improving work-life balance. • Any changes will maintain the intent  of Commission on College Basketball to minimize outside influence. • MBOC will review data to determine whether changes are appropriate.

MBB Recruiting Calendar Survey • Phase I (November – July 15):  • Collection of recruiting-person-day data for 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 and events. • Administered by senior conference compliance administrators to institutional compliance administrators. • Please submit your data ASAP! • Please send final excel documents to Jen Smith jssmith@ncaa.org

MBB Recruiting Calendar Survey • Phase II (May 7 – June 7):  • Survey: • Recruiting events coaches want to attend; • Timing and frequency of recruiting; • Dead and/or shutdown periods; and • Whether head coaches’ off-campus recruiting activity should be limited.  • Senior institutional compliance administrators to head and assistant men’s basketball coaches.

  18. Exhibition Game Guidelines

  19. Overview • January 2019: MBOC and WBOC confirmed their support of Committee on Legislative Relief's guidelines for basketball exhibition game waivers to raise funds for catastrophic events for the 2019-20 basketball season. • Counts as one of institution’s two permissible exhibition games.

  20. Guidelines • Must submit a legislative relief waiver. • No relief - waivers seeking to permit an additional exhibition game or scrimmage. • Previously signed contracts will not be considered mitigating circumstances.
