  1. There are 4 Springs Feasts of the Lord Spring Feasts 1.PASSOVER 2. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD 3. FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS 4. FEAST OF PENTECOST (WEEKS)

  2. Passover • PASSOVER Lev 23:4 'These are the LORD's appointed feasts, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times: • Lev 23:5 The LORD's Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. • Passover is the Feast of Salvation . In both Testaments the Blood of the Lamb delivers from slavery. The Jew from Physical slavery in Egypt and the Christian from the Slavery of the Egypt of Sin • 1Co 5:7 ….. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:

  3. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD 2. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Lev 23:6 On the fifteenth day of that month the LORD's Feast of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. 1Co 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. 1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Leaven of the Pharisees Leaven of the Sadducees Leaven of Herod Leaven of Galatia Leaven of Corinth

  4. FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS Lev 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest unto the priest: Lev 23:11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

  5. FEAST OF PENTECOST The New Testament Sign of Pentecost was and is tongues Act 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it satupon each of them. Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  6. The Feasts of The Lord The Three Fall Feasts 5. FEAST OF TRUMPETS 6. DAY OF ATONEMENT 7. FEAST OF TABERNACLES

  7. FEAST OF TRUMPETS Yom Teruah-means the day of the Awaking blast of the shofar, the rams horn. It is believed by the Jews to be the day of the first resurrection of the dead. It is in the seventh month.

  8. Day of Atonement The Day of Atonement was the most solemn of all days in Israel. This was the day of National and Sanctuary Cleansing. Atonement means- kâphar -kaw-far‘- to cover (specifically with bitumen); figuratively to expiate or condone, to placate or cancel: - appease, make (an) atonement, cleanse, disannul, forgive, be merciful, pacify, pardon, to pitch, purge (away), put off, (make) reconcile (-liation).

  9. If men & women can be brought to a realization of what great sinners they are before God, most of their doctrinal difficulties about the deity of Christ and about the doctrine of atonement through the shed blood of Jesus Christ will take care of themselves, for nothing but a divine Savior who has redeemed them by shedding His blood to pay the penalty of their sins will satisfy the longings of their hearts. R.A Torrey

  10. Day of Atonement In the Old Testament Atonement never took away sin it only covered it. Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. Heb 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshipers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Sin, Iniquities and transgressions Think of the Old Testament Atonement in terms of a credit card. Your credit card only covers you until you can make the payment. The debt is still there.

  11. Day of Atonement When John the Baptist saw Jesus he said of him….. Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Jesus takes away our sin never to be remembered against us.

  12. Day of Atonement Mic 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

  13. Lev 23:26 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, Lev 23:27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation (Dress Rehearsal) unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 7is the number of fullness or completion and perfection. The 7th month completed the Feasts of the Lord. Seven is also the number of Rest. So this month brought Israel to the truth of resting in the Blood Atonement for righteousness before God. 10is the number of testing, trial, law and order. The ten days between the Blowing of trumpets and the Day of Atonement were days of preparation all were personally responsible to be ready for this day.

  14. Day of Atonement Lev 23:28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. Lev 23:29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. Lev 23:30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. Lev 23:31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. Lev 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. Notice how many times the Lord say to do no work and to rest on this day. He is trying to teach them to rest in the Blood Atonement for righteousness before God.

  15. Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. Rom 4:3 For what saith the Scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

  16. Day of Atonement • This was a Day of Holy Convocation. (dress rehearsal) Lev 23:27-32 • This was a Day of fasting. Lev 23:26-32 This day was called “the Fast.” It was the only of the feasts of the Lord specifically set aside as a day of National fasting. • Act 27:9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them, • This was a Day of Soul affliction. On this Day Israelites humbled themselves in National repentance and humiliation. God uses affliction to draw us to himself. • Psa 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. • Soul Affliction speaks of Judging ourselves so that we will not be judged of the Lord. • 1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. • This was a Day of Solemn assembly. Joel 2:15-17 • Joe 2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: • Joe 2:16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

  17. Day of Atonement • This was a Day of Solemn assembly cont- • Joe 2:17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? • (This speaks of times of special prayer and intercession and fasting before the Lord.)

  18. Day of Atonement The Day of Atonement Ceremonies….. Lev 16:1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the LORD, and died; Lev 16:2 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the veil before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. Mercy Seat

  19. Day of Atonement The Day of Atonement Ceremonies…..The Golden Censor Lev 16:12 And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil: Lev 16:13 And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not: Incense and its ingredients typifies prayer & Intercession Incense Psa 141:2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.

  20. Day of Atonement This is a Picture of the Present day Ministry of Jesus Christ Heb 7:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

  21. Day of Atonement At the First coming of Christ Zacharias was given a revelation at the altar of Incense while the multitude was praying As the second coming of Christ approaches the Spirit of prayer and supplications will again increase in the church. Rev 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. Rev 8:2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

  22. Day of Atonement Rev 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. Rev 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. Rev 8:5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

  23. Day of Atonement The Day of Atonement Ceremonies…..The Washing of Water Lev 16:4 He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen miter shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on. Linen For Aaron The symbolic act of washing with water meant he was clean to make Atonement for Israel

  24. Day of Atonement The symbolic act of washing with water points to the washing of water by the word. It also involves the washing of regeneration. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. He’s talking spiritual wrinkles here not physical She may not be pretty but she is all mine!

  25. The symbolic act of washing with water pointed to the washing of water by the word. It also involves the washing of regeneration. For the believer we must be washed with the word to approach the presence of the Lord and minister before him. Tit 3:5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit, Tit 3:6 Which He poured out [so] richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. I’m Washed with the Water of the word Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

  26. Day of Atonement The Day of Atonement Ceremonies…..The Linen Garments Lev 16:4 He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen miter shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on. On this day Aaron laid aside his garments of Glory and Beauty and put on white linen Garments. After making atonement in the Holy place he was to change back into his garments of glory and beauty. White Linen Garments of Glory & Beauty This is a picture of Christ who laid aside his Garments of Glory & beauty and took upon himself the form of a servant. He made atonement for mankind and returned to heaven to wear again his garments of Glory & Beauty.

  27. The Day of Atonement Ceremonies…..The Linen Garments Php 2:5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] Php 2:6 Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, Php 2:7 But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. Php 2:8 And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! Php 2:9 Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, Php 2:10 That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, Php 2:11 And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  28. Day of Atonement The Day of Atonement Ceremonies…..The Sacrifices • A young bullock for a sin offering – for Aaron and his house. • A ram for a burnt offering – for Aaron himself • Two kids of the goats for a sin offering- one goat for the Lord and the other goat for the people • One ram for a burnt offering for the people • Meal offerings and drink offerings as in Num 29:7-11 All of these offerings point to the one perfect and once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

  29. The Day of Atonement Ceremonies…..The Atoning Ministry Atonement for Aaron the High Priest and his household- Aaron first offered a bullock for a sin offering for himself and his house. Lev 16:3-14 Jesus our High Priest needed no atonement. He was God incarnate. He was born of a virgin, sinless, and perfect in thought word and deed and needed no redemption from sin Heb 7:26 Such a high priest meets our need--one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Heb 7:27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. Heb 7:28 For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

  30. Day of Atonement Atonement for the Nation On this day Special Sacrifices were offered for Atonement. The Special and Peculiar offerings were those of two goats. One goat for Jehovah and the other goat for Azazel. (scape goat or goat for departure) One goat was slain, the other goat was taken into the wilderness by the Hand of a fit man, bearing away the sins of the people. Lots were cast as to which goat was for the Lord in sacrifice and which goat would be taken into the wilderness to be released, Azazel Jehovah

  31. Day of Atonement The Goat chosen for Jehovah was killed. This goat died to reconcile. Its blood was sprinkled eastward and then sprinkled 7 times within the veil on the mercy seat. All of this was done in a rising cloud of Incense. This pointed to the death of Jesus who was “the Lords Goat” and our sin offering who was also making intercession for the people on the cross. He died to reconcile us to God. His blood was brought into the heavenly sanctuary within the veil. Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

  32. The Sprinkling of Blood Seven times on the Mercy seat speaks of Jesus our Perfect Sacrifice 1st Garden of Gethsemane - Luke 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. 2nd 1st 2nd Pulling of His Beard -Luke 22:63-64 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him. [64] And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee? Isaiah 50:6 - I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

  33. Jesus our Perfect Sacrifice Bled Seven Times 3rd Flogging-Mark 15:15Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. 3rd 4th • 4th Crown of Thorns - John 19:2-3 The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again and again, saying, "Hail, king of the Jews!" And they struck him in the face.

  34. Jesus our Perfect Sacrifice Bled Seven Times 5th Nails in Hands6th Nail in Feet - Psalm 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. 7th 5th & 6th 7th Sword Piercing His Side - John 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

  35. Day of Atonement The scapegoat was also symbolic of Christ’s ministry. The Lords goat symbolized Christ in his death. The scapegoat symbolizes Christ in his bearing away our sins and descending into hell 3 days and nights. The scape goat after the laying on of hands by the High priest was sent by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness bearing away the sins, transgressions, iniquities and uncleanness of Israel. A red or scarlet cloth was tied to one of its horns.

  36. Day of Atonement This fit man would lead the goat out to a high cliff in the wilderness and push the goat off of the cliff backwards. They did not want the goat to possibly wander back to them reminding them of their sins.

  37. Day of Atonement They would also hang a scarlet cloth over the gates of the temple. Tradition says that if everything had been done correctly the scarlet cloth on the temple would turn white and everybody would know they had been forgiven. It’s been said that after 33 A.D. the cloth never turned white again!

  38. Day of Atonement Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

  39. Day of Atonement The word forgiveness conveys the truth of the scapegoat ministry forgiveness means to send away, to bear or carry away. Azazel in Hebrew means the goat for departure or going away. It signifies entire removal. Jesus fulfilled this. WE are Forgiven Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. 1Jn 2:12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. East

  40. Day of Atonement Jesus is our Mercy seat who paid for our sins with his own Blood 7 times Blood was sprinkled 7 times Blood was sprinkled Place where the Lord lay

  41. Day of Atonement Atonement for the Sanctuary After making Atonement for himself and his household and the nation Aaron then made Atonement for the Sanctuary and its furnishings.

  42. Day of Atonement The Prophet Zechariah in Prophesying of this day said… Zec 3:8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. Zec 3:9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. In the Bible day means a literal 24 hour day and an indefinite period of time. Once the initial day was ushered in it remains open to all who will believe and enter in to the Feast
