  1. John Hancock by Molly wikitree.com thefabulousbirthdayblog.blogspot.com en.wikipedia.org John Hancock was born in Braintree, Massachusetts on January 12th 1737. He went to school at Public Latin, and he went to Harvard College. He was raised by John Hawke Hancock and Mary Hawke Hancock. His parents died John was 6 years old and his and his uncle and aunt took care of his family in Boston. That’s how he went to Harvard College. Then his uncle died in 1774. After he died John took responsibility for his uncle’s job at Thomas Hancock & Co. In his late days he married Dolly Dorothy Quincy and later they had a daughter named Lydia Hancock. He was elected governor of Massachusetts in 1780. In 1765 he became a selectman of Boston and from 1769 to 1774 he was a member of the Massachusetts general court. He signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. He was the first one to sign the Declaration of Independence and he did the biggest and fanciest signature.He headed the Massachusetts militia in 1778. Tragic but true John died on October 8th, 1793 in Boston! The end!
