  2. White House Heritage High • White House Heritage is located in White House, TN. • The school was opened in 2009. • The school serves 933 students in grades 7-12.

  4. White House Heritage High Employees • There are 55 certified teachers, 12 full-time classified employees, and 2 part-time classified employees.

  6. White House Heritage High Library • There is 1 librarian. • The library can accommodate 107 people. • There is approximately 2500 sq. ft. • There are 14 student computers.

White House Heritage High Library Collection And Programs • There are 8663 cataloged items in the library. • The average book age in the non-fiction collection is 15 years old. • After analyzing collection 2533 books should be purchased to meet the state requirement of 12 items per student. • Two daily classes are taught in the library; 1 related arts class (7th grade) and 1 remedial reading class (7th grade). • There is 1 book fair per school year, that generated less than $1000 in the 2013-14 school year. • Literacy Month (March) is celebrated every year where guest readers and activities are planned to promote the importance of reading.

To serve Heritage with appropriate and current materials ensuring life-long reading and learning habits. 2. To provide staff with necessary materials, equipment and support for their teaching. 3. To promote research and reading opportunities to prepare students for a productive citizenship.

White House Heritage High Library Mission in relation to WHHHS Mission Statement WHHHS: Our mission at White House Heritage is to maintain a structured community that ensures learning is our first priority. Relationship to the library Mission statement: The alignment of the school’s and library’s makes sure that all students equip the students to be 21st century learners through reading, literacy, and advocacy of literature as well as use of technology.

  12. White House Heritage High Long-Term Plan Collection Goal: To update the media center collection to meet curricular needs of the learning community. AlA-AASL-2010.5: Program Management & Administration: Candidates plan, develop, implement, & evaluate school library programs, resources, & services in support of the mission statement of the library program within the school according to the ethics & principals of library science, education, management, & administration.

White House Heritage High Long-Term Plan Library Staff Goal: To provide high-quality staff to help meet the needs of WHHS AAL-AASL-2010.4.4: Advocacy: Candidates identify stakeholders within and outside the school community who impact the school library program. Candidates develop a plan to advocate for school library and information programs, resources, & services.

White House Heritage High Long-Term Plan Facility Goal: Create a safe, efficient, fun ,and friendly atmosphere ALA-AASL 2010.5.3: Personnel, funding, & facilities: Candidates apply best practices related to planning, budgeting, & evaluating human, information, & physical resources. Candidates organize library facilities to enhance the use if information resources & services & to ensure equitable access to all resources for all users. Candidates develop, implement, & evaluate policies & procedures that support teaching & learning in school libraries.

White House Heritage High Long-Term Plan Technology Goal: To update and add technology into the library, class activities, and book collection ALA-AASL-2010.3: Information and Knowledge: Candidates model & promote ethical, equitable access to & use of physical, digital, & virtual collections of resources. Candidates demonstrate the use of a variety of research strategies to generate knowledge to improve practice.
