Eating the apple • The apple goes in the mouth it is chewed into little pieces by the teeth and mixed saliva.
Swallowing • The food is swallowed it travels down the food pipe to the stomach.
Stomach • In the stomach the food is mixed with lots of digestive juices. This breaks the food down into tiny little pieces that can be taken into the body.
Small intestine • The tiny pieces of food pass into the small intestine. Here all the good bits are taken into the body.
Large intestine • The waste products and water pass into the large intestine here are all the water is needed is taken into the body
Waste • What bits are left after the large intestine are waste products. This leaves the body when we go to the toilet.
