Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) • PARCC is developing a common set of computer-based K–12 assessments in English language arts/literacy and math linked to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). • Nine public colleges and universities and six private colleges in New Jersey have committed to participate in PARCC, help develop the college-ready assessments, and, ultimately, use those assessments as one indicator of students’ readiness for entry-level, credit-bearing college courses. • PARCC Conference March 27, 2014 registration is required

HESAA Budget Policy Statement2014-2015 AY • TAG received an increase of $14 million • Full-time TAG Awards will be based on students’ current award levels (2013-2014 AY) and each cell will increase by a percentage not to exceed 2.5% • This means HESAA will no longer look back at tuition from two or four years ago to establish the TAG award table • Increase of 1,243 new additional TAG awards

  17. Next Steps • Develop a statewide advocacy strategy • EOFPA NJ membership needs to develop a unified budget request • Decide which campus based programs will contact which legislators • Develop a mechanism to keep the membership informed of your progress
