Innovation as an Energy Source Law of Conservation of Innovation The total amount of innovation is a constant resource that is available within all individuals and in an organization but it can only be changed between two states. • Potential innovation emerges to a state of kinetic innovation. • Necessity changes potential innovation into kinetic innovation or the organization fails or never achieves its full potential. • Complacency changes kinetic innovation back into a state of potential innovation until the next need emerges.
