The Penn State Altoona Experience • PAWS: Perseverance, Ambition, and the Will to Succeed • PAWS helps residents of a low-income government-housing complex (Fairview Hills) apply to post-secondary school and obtain financial aid to fund their education. • The program offers individuals help through the process of researching schools, applying online, financial aid, and adjusting into the college environment. • The Altoona Area School District Guidance Office is partnering with our Penn State Altoona faculty and students to help meet resident’s needs and make this program successful.
