  3. Reading Fill-in The blank • Form Reading Partnerships. • Partner A will begin reading the text aloud. Whenever you get to a part in ALL CAPS and in brackets, partner B should fill in a response. • At the text break, partners switch roles.

  4. Text Mark-Up • Each group will get a math story. Your goal is not to complete the problem but to mark up the text with your questions and comments. • Each member will have a role in the types of comments they should make on the text: • Questioner: Asks questions to deepen or clarify understanding. • Connector: Make comments that connect to outside experiences, prior knowledge, other texts, or world events. • Summarizer: Makes comments that paraphrase and synthesize meaning of the text. • Vocabulary Decoder: Makes notes about meaning and importance of vocabulary in the reading.
