  • The volume V of a rectangular prism is the product of the length l, the width w, and the height h.

V = l(w)(h)

  • The volume of a three-dimensional

figure is the measure of space it occupies.

  • It is measured by cubic units
    • Ex: centimeters cubed (cm³)

  • The volume V of a cylinder is the area of the base times the height h.

V = (Area of the base)(height)

  • The base of a cylinder is a circle.
  • You will have to find the area of the circle and multiply that by the height of the cylinder.
  • It is measured by cubic units
