Learn all the best ways to capture your PC’s screen in Microsoft’s Windows 11. In this article, we will talk about 5 Easy Ways to Take Screenshots in Windows 11. So, keep on reading. Microsoft’s desktop operating system, Windows 11, simpli?es the process of capturing images from your PC’s screen, and the latest update adds a special feature: screen video recording (see Snipping Tool). Using Windows 11, here are the best methods for taking screenshots. The methods range from traditional keyboard shortcuts to tools that allow you to edit and share screenshots as well as set timers. 5 Easy Ways to Take Screenshots in Windows 11 1. Copy and paste the screen using the PrtSc (Print Screen) key The full desktop image will be copied to the clipboard when you press PrtSc (sometimes spelled out as Print Screen). The image must then be pasted into an app that accepts it, such as Paint, Paint 3D, or Adobe Photoshop. If you want to capture only the active application window, add the Alt key, for Alt-PrtSc. Using this key combo saves the current window to the clipboard, so you can paste it into an imaging program.  In Windows 11, the rounded corners are extended to squared-off corners since image ?les are always rectangular, so the result can be a little strange. 2. Using the PrtSc Key with OneDrive OneDrive can also be used in conjunction with PrtSc to create an image ?le automatically of the screenshot you take. This method differs from the standard PrtSc option because it produces such a different result and saves you from opening an app and pasting the clipboard. Here’s how to do it: Choose Settings and then the Backup tab of the dialog box and select Automatically Save Screenshots I Capture to OneDrive. When you check that box, PrtSc automatically creates an image ?le in a OneDrive folder of your choice, which appears on your desktop like a local ?le. In addition, it can be accessed from any device that has access to OneDrive (there are clients for every platform). I always use this method when I think I’ll need an image ?le instead of just pasting it. In addition, it comes in handy when I don’t have enough time to save an image ?le separately, such as during a live presentation. 3. The Windows Key-PrtSc keyboard shortcut can be used To take screenshots and automatically save them somewhere other than OneDrive, you can press the Windows Key and PrtSc keys simultaneously. As a result, the screen dims brie?y and a PNG ?le is placed in Pictures > Screenshots by default. It is possible to paste the screenshot anywhere right after you use this method. The PrtSc key on the keyboard is positioned differently. 4. Make use of the Snipping Tool

  3. Windows 11 cleans up the previous screenshot tooling confusion in Windows by combining the earlier Snipping Tool with Windows 10’s fantastic Snip & Sketch tool. Press Windows Key-Shift-S to activate the Snipping Tool. With that keyboard shortcut, you can take screenshots of a rectangular selection, a freehand selection, a window, or a full screen (as seen in the image above). 5. Use a third-party screen capture tool As a longtime SnagIt user, I enjoyed how it saved screenshots for later use, which is why it is still PCMag Editors’ Choice for screenshot utilities. (I now ?nd that the built-in Windows screenshot tools serve my needs adequately.) SnagIt also captures videos of screen action and window scrolling.
