Getting Started • Corporation of Trinity House London issues Contract Notice December 1, 2006 for a services contract for the provision of UK eLoran signal-in-space, as part of European eLoran service. • Invitations to Tender issued in January 2007. • The General Lighthouse Authorities (GLAs) today (31 May 2007) announces the award of a prestigious fifteen-year contract to VT Communications (part of VT Group plc) for the provision of a state-of-the-art enhanced Loran (eLoran) radionavigation service to improve the safety of mariners in the UK and Ireland. • http://www.trinityhouse.co.uk/media_centre/press_releases/press_release.html?id=15001 • VT Communications awarded subcontracts to R.G. Site Survey • General site survey • Antenna farm location survey and orientation tests - Day 1 • 2 pre-tuned NF-6 notch filter boxes and engineering antenna preamp - provided by Megapulse; • spectrum analyzer, scope, van, etc. - provided by VTC; • 2 locations surveyed; • several antenna orientations tried; • preamp overloading caused multiple harmonics in Loran band; • Antenna farm location survey and orientation tests - Day 2 • preamp gain reduced, antenna orientation adjusted - successful reception of Lessay; • Container "survey" (1/3 of the future building)
