Second Grade Curriculum Benchmark Language Arts Program *Daily 5/mini lessons Everyday Math *Hands on/games, homelinks Phonics/Word Study Program "Word study" is an alternative to traditional spelling instruction. It is based on learning word patterns rather than memorizing unconnected words. Zaner-Blosser Handwriting/Cursive *October Cereal City Science *3 Units-Measurement, Earth’s landforms, Plants Social Studies: Our Community Integrated Technology Character Education

  7. HOMEWORK • Homework folder and planner daily • Reading Calendar • Math “home links” • Check my website for announcements, homework and blog postings

Field Trips • $5 per student or a maximum of $10 per family is requested to fund this year’s field trips. • Additional donations are also greatly appreciated for those in need of financial assistance. • If writing a check, please make it payable to St. Joseph Public Schools. • Sarett Nature Center (spring) • Planetarium at Upton (2nd or 3rd trimester) • Heritage Center Historical Walk (spring) • Krasl Art Center (spring)
