SYNDICAT NATIONAL DES ORCHESTRES ET THEATRES LYRIQUES National French orchestra employers association www.synolyr.org • 15 orchestra members (32 members with Association Française des Orchestres) represented by a director or administrator of their choice • Members located in all regions across France • Primarily symphonic orchestras, a few chamber orchestras, with musiciens engaged on open-ended contracts • Key figures for 24 of our orchestra members (2009-2010 season) • Over 2 500 performances • 88 premieres of new works • Over 2 100 000 audience members

EMPLOYERS ORGANISATIONS Live performance sector • 3 sub-sectors within live performance: public, subsidized and private… …each with its own economic and legal environment • 14 employers organizations in live performance • Employer federations : • FEPS : all performing arts • FESAC: performing arts, audiovisual sector, recording industry • 3 Interprofessionnel federations: no performing arts employers organizations • PEARLE*: all performing arts Europe

SOCIAL DIALOGUE Live performance sector • Negotiating National collective agreements • Convention collectives des entreprises artistiques et culturelles – negotiations organized by Ministry of Labor • Chapter on orchestras • Interpretation and mediation committee • Negotiating Sectoral agreements • SYNOLYR currently negotiating specifically for orchestras • Representing members on boards and commissions with social partners • Tripartite commission for the sector: Ministry of Culture and social partners • National institutions managed by social partners : life-long learning fund, social protection fund, Sectoral skills council • Ad hoc consultation groups • Other activities with social partners • Petitions, awareness-raising • Joint events – April 2 Concert in support of Orchestre National Ile-de-France facing budget cuts
