  1. Ethical obligations regarding SEO SEO or search engine optimisation is a technique used to make the contents of a website in a way that makes it easier to pop up in a search engine like Google or Bing. Like any other thing in the world, there is a legal way to do that and then there in an illegal way to do that. The illegal way is called the black hat marketing. The black hat marketing involves using unethical and illegal means to make a website more searchable. When you put a word in a search engine, it searches millions and millions of websites online to match the exact keyword. When the search engine finds a match, it displays the websites that match the keyword. People who are engaged in illegal search engine optimisation use this to make changes in a website that allows it pop up on the search results. More often than not, the result does not match the inquiry of the user which puts a bad impression of the search engine on the user. This is the reason why most of the search engines have blacklisted the websites which use such illegal means of making their websites more search friendly. The black hat practitioners use SEOblack hat software to help them achieve their objectives. There are many forums which educate people on black hat mailing and other techniques involved in the black hat SEO practices. These forums are in place to fight this illegal practice and stop them from wasting the time of the user and defaming the search engines. Methods Companies and websites which indulge in black hat practices do not care about the means. All they want is to be ranked at the top. They are willing to use any method to achieve their objective even if it means that they have to do it at the expense of the user or the search engines. Some of the common methods are as follows: Hidden contents: One of the methods used to trick the search engines is the hiding of contents on another website or blog. This includes writing contents in the colour of the background. Which makes them invisible to the user but the website pops up in the search. Spamming: TheRepetition of the key phrases without actually providing the information about the website. Gateway pages: they create a gateway page that pops into the search engine put when a user open the page, they redirected to another page.
