ABOUT SLUGGETTER SLUG TRAPS We originally developed SlugGetter traps as a decorative solution to protect our flowers and vegetables from destructive slugs in the wet rainforests of Southeast Alaska. We wanted something more attractive and durable than the homemade traps we'd been making from used cottage cheese and yogurt containers, but liked the effectiveness of traditional beer-baited traps. Prompted by the urging of our friends and neighbors who had been using our early versions, we soon resolved to help others enjoy the benefits of potent slug control with ornamental traps that would add charm and interest to their gardens. Through the reach of internet commerce, we've been helping gardeners across the United States, Canada, and Europe with safe, fun, and effective slug control since 2021. • We design and produce the traps in our small 3D printing studio, using sustainable, plant-based PLA plastic.   4. SLUG-TRAPPING TIPS • Leave your SlugGetter traps in place for a few nights in each spot, to reduce slug populations in the immediate vicinity. Dispose of dead slugs in your compost pile or trash can, to avoid drawing more slugs to your plants. Move your traps around after a few days to cover a larger area, but repeat the trapping at previously-trapped spots • Fill the base with beer to attract and kill slugs. Slugs will smell the bait and crawl into the pool of beer and drown (happy!). Big banana slugs (>3 inches long) are less likely to drown in the beer, so for bigger slugs we recommend baiting the trap with a commercial slug repellent bait like Corry's or Sluggo instead. The trap will prot Slugs are active primarily at night (and in daylight during wet weather). They hide under rocks, logs, and ground litter during the day, so put your SlugGetter traps near cover, to catch slugs as they leave their hiding places in the evening.
