  3. A Good & Improving Force 2007/08 • Reduction in all and key Crimes • Increased detection rate • Improved call handling • Good response times • National leaders in Quality of Service • Improvements in public reassurance • Reductions in those Killed / Seriously Injured in road traffic incidents

  6. 10 Youth Crime Reduction Officers CDRP based and responsible for coordination Investment in 38 Youth and Schools PCSOs 1 per Extended School Consortia (ESC) Core Offer- defines the schools PCSO role and how it works with the generic Geographic PCSO role Schools - Our Commitment

Youth & Schools PCSOs Core OfferMinimum Service • Providing targeted visible presence within schools, including truancy patrols with the Education Welfare Officer • Act as single point of contact between your school and the Police for matters such as CAF etc. • Share good practice through extended schools consortia • Assist in PSHE and Citizenship classroom inputs (these staff are not trained teachers and should not be expected to run lessons)

Youth & Schools PCSOs Core OfferMinimum Service • Deliver key Policing messages through appropriate forums, including assemblies • Assist in Restorative Justice Conferences held within the school • Work with schools and local communities to address anti social behavior in the neighbourhood policing area • Attend other multi agency meetings such as YISP, Prevent and Deter meetings

Youth Strategy • Safeguarding • Preventing young people becoming victims of crime • Preventing young people becoming repeat victims of crime • Preventing young people offending or re-offending • Addressing the perception gap in anti social behaviour involving young people • ACPO youth toolkit • Risk assessment process to identify young people who are committing crime or are at risk of doing so • Drawn up in partnership with Police, YOT and IYSS • We may approach you for information on that young person
