The medication is effective in its working when it is taken in right amount and as per the prescription. You can experience various side effects if you take tramadol and alcohol together.

  2. Common side effects of Tramadol Some people experience mild side effects of tramadol. The most common side effects of tramadol are: * nausea and vomiting constipation and gastric problems * dry mouth * drowsiness and dizziness

  3. Serious side effects if you take tramadol and alcohol at the same time Tramadol may cause serious side effects if tramadol and alcohol are taken altogether. Some of the side effects may prove fatal and risky. Tramadol can slow or stop your breathing if it is taken with alcohol. The medication may be habit-forming. To avoid such side effects you should not take more tramadol than prescribed as an overdosage of this medication can be fatal. - Other side effects of tramadol includes slow breathing with long pauses, noisy and shallow breathing , sighing ,blue-colored lips, nausea and vomiting, breathing that stops during sleep or if you find it hard to wake up. * Call your doctor at once if you experience a slow heart rate or weak pulse, seizures(convulsions), loss of appetite,a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out, dizziness, weakness or tiredness, restlessness, anxiety, drug craving etc. * It is important to consult your health care provider if side effects like agitation, fever, hallucinations, sweating, muscle stiffness, shivering, fast heart rate, muscle cramps, twitching, loss of coordination, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea, confusion, mental impairment are there.
