2. Education Award The National Service Trust contacts you by mail notifying you of the availability of your award and how to access it. (If they don’t go into My AmeriCorps and look.)Available within 14 days or less in My AmeriCorps

My AmeriCorps • Manage Education Award • Request payments • Track the status of your balance/requests • Transfer an Award (if eligible) • Put Title IV Educational Loan into Forbearance • Request Interest Payment on Loan in Forbearance • Print Out Letter Certifying Term of Service • Modify contact information (name, addresses, e-mail address)

5. My AmeriCorps Forbearance Interest Accrual Educational Award Award Extension(6 years after end of term) Transfer Award

6. Manage Education Award • You can create an account with your school or lender, then choose the amount you would like used at that time.

7. Manage Education Award • If your school or lender isn’t registered, you’ll be asked to enter contact information so the Trust can contact the school or lender.

Manage Education Award How online requests work… Trust Staff Your Institution Request Request & Check status You Most requests will not require Trust staff review however, they will provide support when necessary. Provide Support Your request is submitted electronically to your Institution for processing. After logging into the system, you can create and submit a request online for your AmeriCorps Education Award benefits. Approved requests are paid.

11. Interest 1. Verify that all of the pre-populated information on your request form is correct. 2. Select the term of service for which you are requesting your interest accrual benefit. 3. Search for and select your Financial Institution. 4. Once you click submit, your interest accrual benefit request.

12. Time Extension How to request an Award Extension You can request 6 years after your term ends.1. Click on Create Award Extension and verify that all of the pre-populated information on your request form is correct. 2. Select the appropriate reason from the drop-down list and provide a brief explanation in the comments box. 3. Attach documentation, if any, by using the browse button 4. Click the "submit" button. Your Award Extension request will be sent to the National Service Trust for review.
