  2. Definitions • Athens- a city state in ancient Greece. • agora-a public market place where goods are sold and traded. • Vendor-someone who sells goods. • Slavery- being owned by someone else and forced to work.

  3. Objectives-Life In Public • Life in public for Athens was busy, especially in the Agora. The men would talk of politics and philosophy. Many people haggled and bartered with vendors in the market. Temples and government buildings were on the sidelines as well.

  4. Objectives- At Home In Athens • Homes were made of mud brick. There were some homes that had indoor bathrooms. Breakfast usually consists of bread, lunch bread with cheese or olives, and dinner had vegetables, fish, and some assorted fruits.

  5. Objectives- slavery • Slavery happened when people were captured in war, owed money, or committed a crime. Slaves had to work in fields or dig for silver in mines. Household slaves had an easier time. They either cooked and served food and were treated like members of the family.

  7. Paragraph • Athens was a great ancient Greek city. It held the Olympic Games in honor of Zeus. The public life consists of mainly going to the agora everyday. The private life showed their meals, and the rights of women. Slaves would work hard in the of Athens.
