  2. Session content:

  3. Background – LearnHigher Partners and Learning Areas

  4. Developing the resources – the rationale The project was entering its final year The website will continue to provide a ‘home’ for the extensive range of resources The expertise of the people involved may not be so easily preserved A collaborative project to develop a suite of video resources Designed to capture the expertise of the LearnHigher partners

  5. Developing the resources - aim To develop a suite of 20 resources designed to enable an educator, regardless of location, to deliver a student workshop, a range of activities or a support initiative, covering a specific area of skills development.

  6. Developing the resources Using multi-media and rapid e-learning tools • Video plays a central role in communication: • talking head style clips • snap shots of workshops • student activity sessions • interview style clips Resources put together using Articulate Presenter and Engage – rapid e-learning software that works with MS PowerPoint.

  7. Developing the resources – the template Use of a template document prior to filming.

  8. Accessing the resources – Staff pages

  9. Accessing the resources - Video resource page www.learnhigher.ac.uk/videoresources

  10. Demonstration - Group Work

  11. Tips / Lessons learned • Work to a template • Adapt rather than reinvent • Seasoned presenters are not necessarily at ease in front of a camera • It takes much longer to complete a resource than anticipated • Adopt the ‘it’s good enough’ culture

  12. Discussion Over to you!

  13. Thank you! The tutor resources can be found at www.learnhigher.ac.uk/videoresources
