  2. ¿ QUE ES LA ASFI? • En el marco del mandato de la nueva Constitución Política del Estado, y el Decreto Supremo Nº 29894, desde el 7 de mayo de 2009, la ex Superintenciade Bancos y Entidades Financieras se denomina Autoridad de Supervisión del Sistema Financiero de Bolivia. • ASFI es la institución del estado, encargada de regular y supervisar el funcionamiento de las entidades bancarias, cooperativas, mutuales, fondos financieros y entidades que operan con valores y seguros, las que conforman el Sistema Financiero del Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia. Asumió, además, las funciones y atribuciones de control y supervisión de las actividades económicas de los decretos de Valores y Seguros.
