ACT Roster • Part of the Student Data Review and Reporting (SDRR) Application • DAC should print copies of the roster and save electronically once it is final.
SDRR and ACT • Official Student roster (pre-populated from IC) • Document nonparticipation information March 7– March 30
Nonparticipation • Mark reason in SDRR indicating why student did take the ACT on either state test date (March 6 and March 20) • Choose from nonparticipation categories in SDRR

Enter information electronically into SDRR. An Exemption Request is NOT automatically approved.
Exemption Types • Medical Exemption choice requires more detailed information, including Date of Diagnosis and Hospitalization. More detailed descriptions are needed for approval. • Extraordinary Circumstance (Other Exemption) choice has open field to enter information. • For both types of exemptions, see the associated Medical Exemption and Extraordinary Circumstance forms on the KDE web site and in the Forms section of the DAC/BAC.
Medical Exemption Examples • seriously injured in an accident just prior to or during the testing window; • confined to home or hospital with an acute situation, not a long-term home/hospital instruction situation; • unable to interact with people without serious risk of infection or contamination to others; or • pregnant with complications that endanger health of mother or child or has delivered just prior to or during the testing window. Cannot be a handicapping condition
Extraordinary Circumstance Exemption Examples • Student in protective custody • Parental kidnapping • Contact the Division of Support and Research for guidance before completing an Extraordinary Circumstance Exemption.
Suggestions for BACs • Complete paper Medical or Extraordinary Circumstance form in a timely manner • Once paper form is complete, log into SDRR and add the student exemption request • Do not forget to mark the exemption request in SDRR • Keep paper form on-file in district • Check daily for approvals, denials or requests for additional information
Suggestions for DACs • Check exemption requests in SDRR frequently • Make certain schools using SDRR are adding exemptions and updating exemptions • Make certain SDRR has been updated to reflect exemptions • Check paper requests from school with exemption list in SDRR • Make certain that paper Medical and Extraordinary Circumstance exemption forms are completed properly and kept on-file

What’s New • Reading, mathematics and writing will be linked to the new Kentucky Core Academic Standards (KCAS). • Eliminate portfolios. • Expand Attainment Tasks to measure reading, mathematics, science, social studies and writing.
What’s New Science and social studies standards remain Core Content for Assessment 4.1 for 2011-2012. New requirements for the Alternate Assessment and Accountability Folder (AAAF). New monitoring requirements.

Exemptions • FILE EXEMPTION (annotate one or both windows missed) in SDRR when exemptions are filed. File during same time as general assessment exemptions are filed.
Assessment Training Dates • Attainment Tasks (AT) • Online Training available December 5 - February 6. • Transition Attainment Record (TAR) • Online Training available February 13 – May 31.
Attainment Tasks Attainment Tasks have been administered in social studies and writing for the last 4 years. Only new change will consist of dimension A students will have 4 choices (pictures) and dimension B will have 3. Previous assessment consisted of 3 choices for dimension A and 2 for B.
Transition Attainment Record (TAR) No changes have occurred. Still assessed at grades 8, 10 and 11(Alternate for EXPLORE (8), PLAN (10) and ACT (11). One member from the Admissions and Release Committee (ARC) or the Transition Team must be trained to complete. TAR will be provided (online) after the quiz has been completed; teacher may print TAR and share with members. TAR scores are submitted online.
Student Registration Database (SRD) • DAC Access: (similar to prior SRD access) • View all teacher entries • Register a new teacher • Change student information • Add/Remove student accounts • Passwords will be the same as those used in the Online Training system to track teachers if you registered before December. Username will be the district e-mail address.
Student Registration Database (SRD) District or School Level Entries Apply student scores from test windows 1 and 2. Enter TAR results for students in grades 8, 10 and 11. Provide Learner Characteristics Inventory (LCI) information for students (3 questions regarding communication status.) REQUIRED
Destroy Materials NOTHING SHIPS BACK FROM DISTRICT After all tasks are administered, materials should be provided back to the DAC. DAC should (or may assign someone) shred all Attainment Tasks that have been administered. This process should occur at the conclusion of Test Windows 1 and 2. KEEP BINDERS (DACS SHOULD KEEP THEIR COMPLETE DAC BINDER UNTIL END OF SCHOOL YEAR)

AAAF Requirements • The AAAF will contain the following information: • Student Information • Teacher Code of Ethics • Teacher Certificates • Instructional Materials and Work Samples • Attainment Task Scores and Additional Supports (if needed) • Transition Attainment Record (TAR) Information (Applies only to grades 8, 10 and 11). • The AAAF will also serve all monitoring purposes at both the district and state level.
District Monitoring Process • Verify the following: • Administration Code and Inclusion of Special Populations Training has occurred. • Training completed for Attainment Tasks. • A signed Code of Ethics. • Student assessment occurred one to one. • Appropriate accommodations were provided. • Instructional materials were provided (work samples for each standard).
State Monitoring Process Random selections made by the Office of Assessment and Accountability. May ask to view a select number or all of the AAAF folders from the school or district. Revision of the AAAF Components will verify the materials that must be included. Insufficient evidence could result in the lowering of school/district scores.

All test administrators must receive training on the Administration Code for Kentucky’s Educational Assessment Programs. Those assisting with accommodations must receive training on the Inclusion of Special Populations in the state-required assessment and accountability programs. Before Testing
Receiving Materials • Test materials and accommodated test materials will arrive by: April 2,16 and 30. • Test materials arrive in the district packaged by school. The pre-printed student response booklets will be sorted by grade in ascending alphabetical order. • Inventory materials and keep original boxes. • Test materials will include overage: • School will receive 5% • District will receive 3%
