Purpose of this WebinarState Purchasing Division – Statewide Contracts The purpose of this webinar is to: • Explain the scope of the Statewide Contract (old versus new) for Networking Equipment • Provide specific details related to the Statewide Contract • Review the benefits of the Statewide Contract • List the steps you follow to find the Statewide Contract on the SPD website • Review ordering information • Provide answers toquestions related to the Statewide Contract • Request feedback on how SPD can better support you

RFP Goal & Objectives “Old” Environment – Network Equipment • Scope: Basic LAN/WAN – switches, routers, gateways, VPN, firewalls, etc. + limited services (installation/maintenance/support) • Restricted catalog of products/services • Contracts > 10 years old • Mandatory contractfor state entities/Off-contract purchases required waiver • Hardware focus - Onerous to use when purchasing an IT solution

RFP Goal & Objectives For the Network Equipment and IT Infrastructure Products RFP (AKA Networking Equipment Rebid), SPD had the following objectives for the RFP: SPD’s overall goal was to improve the scope, applicability and benefits of its Information Technology contracts • Expand catalog of products/solutions covered by statewide contract • Enhance ability to talk/discuss/evaluate solutions with Manufacturers • Increase discounts/savings and maximize value of the SWC • Improve purchasing efficiency • Advance technology introductions/dissemination of technology information and roadmaps • Offer additional programs of value to city, county, K-12 BOEs, authorities • Ensure E-Rate eligibility • Support Governor’s program to grow businesses with a GA presence

RFP Scope – Networking Products, Software & Services Definition A computer network or network, is a collection of hardware components and computers interconnected by communication channels that allow sharing of resources (such as applications) and information or data. Targeted RFP Respondents Manufacturers Award by Category (due to complexity of products & diversity in the marketplace) • Category 1 - Wired Networking & Infrastructure Products • Category 2 - Network Optimization & Management Products • Category 3 - Wireless Networking & Infrastructure Products • Category 4 - Security Products • Category 5 - Unified Communications Products

Network Equipment Category Descriptions • Category 1 - Wired Networking & Infrastructure Products Includes wired Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Campus Networks hardware/appliances such as Ethernet-based switches, routers, gateways, controllers, interface modules, associated network management software, etc. Alternatively, the category is described as Ethernet-based products utilized in various networks layers (core, distributed, edge). Category also includes network peripherals and accessories such as transceivers, fiber cable, network interface cards, etc. • Category 2 - Network Optimization & Management Products Includes specialized bandwidth management/WAN optimization, IP address management, network device configuration management products/appliances and network/application monitoring/diagnostics products/appliances plus associated software. • Category 3 - Wireless Networking & Infrastructure Products Includes wireless LAN/WAN/Campus hardware/appliances such as access points/radios (both internal and external), controllers, bridges, and gateways/policy management tools. Category also includes wireless network peripherals and accessories such as network cards, cable, installation materials (ring mounts, enclosures), antennas, network management software, etc. • Category 4 - Security Products Includes Virtual Private Network (VPN) products, firewalls, and other security appliances – both stand-alone and integrated. This category also covers endpoint security/network access control, unified threat management, intrusion prevention, security services, content filtering, etc. • Category 5 - Unified Communications Products • Includes switches, controllers, routers, servers, and service appliances (collaboration, fax, etc.) that support communications via the Internet. In addition, this category includes hardware for video conferencing, IP telephone sets, etc. [This category does NOT cover PRI/Circuit Provisioning/Managed Services.] Subcategory: Network Video Distribution/IPTV. Includes software, hardware, materials, accessories, and installation services necessary for the distribution of standard and HD video across an IP network. Products should be capable of both real-time streaming, video-on-demand, and video archiving, and customized embedded/overlaid content.

  19. SWC Index for Window Shoppers You can also click on the Team Georgia Marketplace™ icon to access the same Login screen, but enter your personal Window Shopper User Name and Password. This allows you to access the Statewide Contract Index as well as to shop for items available from the Statewide Contracts.

  20. SWC for Window Shoppers If you are a Window Shopper user, you can access the Statewide Contract Index by entering your personal User Name and the Password once the Login screen displays. Then, click on the Contracts tab. Use your Window Shopper User Name and Password

How to use this contractState Purchasing Division – Statewide Contracts • Most purchase orders will be processed with an approved or authorized reseller of the Manufacturer • Generally, you or your IT group will have a quote from the authorized reseller • You may also need a Statement of Work, if you have services that are time & material based. • Be sure to reference the SWC # on any quotes and, of course, your P.O.
