  1. Origami Lesson: how to make a pelican Today I’m going to teach you guys how to make an origami bird even though I’m on vacation! If you’re having trouble with the instructions, or need more time you can pause the presentation, rewind or start over. Have fun!

  2. Step 1 Place the paper color side down. Then fold in half from the corners, taco style.

  3. Step 2 Fold the outside corners so that they touch the inside. Make sure and create a really good crease!

  4. Step 3 Fold the edges of your kite inwards again to meet the middle crease. This will make your kite look like a skinnier kite.

  5. Step 4 Turn your kite over so that the color side is now facing you Then fold the tail of the kite up to the top so that it meets the top corner.

  6. Step 5 The shape you have after Step 4 is a long hexagon. Take the left side of your hexagon and fold it to meet it’s right side.

  7. Step 6 Turn your halved hexagon over so that it’s resting on the table with the crease side down

  8. Step 7 Now take the skinny triangle that’s folded inside your paper and slowly raise it up. Next flatten that skinny triangle out, while pinching at the neck of your pelican.

  9. Step 8 In this step you’re taking the flattened out triangle and folding the tip forward to create the pelicans head.

  10. Step 9 On both sides of your pelican you’re going to fold the wing up by taking the bottom corner of the colored portion of the wing and folding it up to meet the top colored edge of the wing. Then unfold it a little bit.
