Our Plan • For full use of the courtyard we want to use the space provided to make an outdoor classroom that includes… • Benches for comfortable seating • Tables to work and relax • A water feature to provide a cool feeling to the space
Benches • Recycled Plywood – Palette Benches • Very low cost • Eco friendly • Easy to construct • This can also be usable for tables
Water Feature Dimensions 20W x 32H inchesMaterial Resin & FiberglassStyle Column , Pedestal , Solar On Demand , TieredWater Sound LowLight NoFeatures Solar , Solar On DemandBrand Smart SolarHeight (in.) 32
What’s included? Solar panels mean no electricity or batteries • Beautiful antique white weathered stone finish • Basin holds 2.25 gallons • 2 levels with plenty of water for birds • No plumbing - water recirculates itself • Measures 20 diam. x 32H inches, 23 lbs.
Materials • Tables • Whiteboard • Benches • Chairs
Budget • 10 tables- $38.00 x 10 = $380.00 • Purchased from Walmart • 10 Benches - $36.10 x 10 = $361.00 • These materials could possibly be created by wood shop classes
Fundraisers - Bake sales- Selling pretzels- Donut selling- $1 to request a song on Music Fridays
Sponsors http://www.toolboxforeducation.com/hta.htmlIf our budget surpasses the $1,000 that is provided by the school, we are able to apply for a grant from Lowe's Toolbox for Education. -The deadline for the application is 5pm EST on February 15, 2014.
Sponsors continued… • Fruit Trees 101 • As featured on The Today Show, “Fruit Tree 101” is a program that brings fruit tree orchards to schoolyards improving the quality of the air and water while creating tasty snacks. • The trees, materials, orchard installation design work, and onsite environmental curriculum with students are all donated • free of charge for the benefit of the school and its students. • donations involve a 12-20 tree minimum.
Other ideas • *Sculpture garden- Opportunity for art students to show their work. Their work only gets seen when students go down the art hallway. • Graffiti Wall- Giant blackboard-usable for teachers and students • Turtle Pond- Doesn’t have to be a turtle. (fish) Gives students something interesting to go outside and see • Fruit Trees *will definitely be included in courtyard
